Samsung S8300 leaks, 8 Mega Pixel Shooter with Touch Screen

A new 8 Mega Pixel Mobile from Samsung has leaked. This will be the third 8 Mega Pixel shooter from Samsung after the i8510 Innov8 and the M8800 Pixon. The new phone is named S8300 and is a slider. The phone is only 12.8 mm thick and has a large OLED Screen sporting a Wide QVGA resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. Further more the Screen is also a Touch Screen so you can use your finger or stylus to operate the phone. This also makes it the second 8 Mega Pixel Touch Screen Phone of Samsung. It also has Bluetooth 2.1, FM Radio, MicroSD slot, GPS, HSPDA, DivX support, TouchQiz interface and lastly the all important 8 Mega Pixel Cam. As it's a slider from Samsung, build quality will be decent and the slider will also be good as Samsung generally makes great slider phones.

The only things missing in this slider are the Wi-Fi connection and a Xenon Flash, which can be beneficial in Night Shooting. The phone just features a LED Flash. Looking at it from the back, the camera reminds of the Samsung G600 and the Samsung u900 Soul which had a similar setup. It should be officially announced in 2009 (only 2 days are left in 2008 mrgreen) and available by March 2009. We will be surely waiting.

LG launch KC 780, has 8 Mega Pixel Camera

LG today announced the KC 780 Camera Phone after it was leaked earlier. The KC 780 contains a 8 Mega Pixel Camera & is just 13.9 mm thick, which is quite a feat considering it contains such a high resolution camera in it. It is the slimmest handset till now to have a 8 Mega Pixel Camera as the Samsung M8000 Pixon is 14.8 mm thick. Apart from being a digital camera, it also doubles up as a camcorder as it can shoot in Wide VGA at a resolution of 720 x 480 at 30 Frames per Second. LG KC 910 Renoir Preview by GSM Arena

GSM Arena has posted a preview of the KC 910 Renoir

At first glance LG Renoir seems remarkably compact for the rich multimedia capabilities it has got to offer.

LG KC910 Renoir has a subdued and conservative design, which however looks and talks shop. The high-quality materials used and the nice shiny finish add for a really nice first impression.

Samsung M8800 Pixon Review by Smape

Smape has reviewed the Samsung M8800 Pixon in an extensive review with lots of pics.

The outward appearance of M8800 is very reminiscent of a common miniature-sized handheld Samsung camera, resemblance found even in the materials. Metal finds an active use, just like in i8510. The camera lens sticks out above the surface but slightly, a second protruding piece added a bit lower to balance the handset and make it easier to hold. The quality of assembly and materials is pleasingly high. Just like any other touchscreen handset, M8800 is exposed to unwanted fingerprints and soiling (to a tolerable extent). The screen diagonal, weight and size are all balanced, you don’t feel any discomfort holding the device in the hand. A thickness of 14.5 isn’t amazing, yet very pleasing for a 8 Mp cameraphone. The KC910 model is thinner, but is more exposed to soiling, and doesn’t have an equally good design.

Samsung i8510 Innov8 & Sony Ericsson C905 Camera Comparison by Mobile Review

Mobile Review has posted comparison of Camera performance of the Samsung i8510 Innov8 & the Sony Ericsson C905.

During our quality time with either of these phones we made hundreds of photos in all imaginable environments (all in all, the final count is this: five hundred for the C905 and around a thousand for the INNOV8). So, in my opinion, we won't run out of sample snaps any time soon, plus this vast gallery we have accumulated over the last months should make for a decent and comprehensive comparison between these two cameraphones.

Furthermore, having some other not-yet-announced 8 Mpix shooters on our hands, we managed to see how the INNOV8 and C905 fared against similarly geared solutions - as it turned out, they weren't that much different at all.

LG is also supposed to launch a Touch Screen Phone which is affordable to the masses. Watch this space for LG's offical launches.

The Pixon will even have DivX playback and SRS Virtual 5.1 Channel Surround Sound to compete with Dolby Mobile Technology found in LG KC 910 Renoir.

The glaring omission in the Samsung M8800 Pixon specs sheet is the Wi-Fi connectivity which would have made it a complete mobile phone. It is expected to start shipping in mid-October and will retail at 550 euro (880 US dollars).

Samsung Pixon M8800 Review by Mobile Review

Mobile Review has posted a detailed review of the Samsung Pixon M8800.

Much like the INNOV8, the M8800 is an imaging-centric phone, and this time around, to put a special emphasis on its focus, Samsung have come up with a new prefix for this type of phones - PIXON. Nevertheless, the first 8 Mpix cameraphone in their range, the i8510 INNOV8 won’t have its name changed, but all phones to come will feature the “PIXON” part in their names. Curiously, though, non imaging-savvy handsets (even with 8 Mpix cameras) won’t have this prefix either.

Samsung i8510 Innov8 Review by Mobile Review

Mobile Review has posted an extensive detailed review of Samsung i8510 Innov8.

While some may think that the size of the Samsung i8510 is its major letdown, it's not quite true. It is on the bulkier side, no doubt about that, but even if they could make it twice as small, that would have been a mistake. As far as mobile powerhouses go, their weight and size somewhat help their credibility. Having a hefty and sizable device that looks the part in his hand, the user will know right away what kind of phone he is dealing with. Should you modify the i8510 size even a tiny bit, it will be perceived in a totally different way.

Many people who saw the Samsung i8510 for the first time pointed at its width and thickness, however when we told them what features it had under the hood, this initial disappointment turned into approving nods in an eyewink.
