HTC Touch Pro Review by Smape

Smape has reviewed the HTC Touch Pro in a very extensive review with more than 350 pics.

The HTC company pioneered the touch functionality by giving their latest PDAs a TouchFLO trademark interface. While the competitors are toiling at decent imitation, the company went on to announcing an updated version of the interface in their recent Diamond PDA. The ceremony took place in London, this summer. The model retains the status of the most popular WM product and one of the most advanced WM gadgets of all currently available from the market. This is largely due to the massive shift to an updated hardware platform, bringing on such powers as a 528 MHz CPU, an VGA screen, a 192 Mb of RAM and so on.

HTC Opal Leakes

Pics of HTC Opal have leaked which is touted as a successor of the original HTC Touch. The casing and dimensions look exactly like the original Touch. The Opal will have the same slow 200 Mhz Processor as the Touch but will have 128 MB RAM / 256 MB ROM instead of 64 MB RAM / 128 MB ROM in the Touch. The OS has been upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 & Touch Flo will also be beefed up to Touch Flo 3D instead of the cube type Touch Flo in the Touch. There will be no 3G to keep the costs down. The 200 Mhz Processor being able to run Touch Flo 3D is a thing to watch out for, it's better to buy the Diamond when the price comes down.

Wall Street Journal confirms Blackberry 9500 Thunder to launch in Q3 2008

The iPhone rival handset from Research in Motion (RIM), the BlackBerry 9500 Thunder is reportedly going to be launched in Q3 2008 according to the Wall Street Journal. Verizon will get the exclusive launch rights for the U.S., while the rest of the world will at least initially be able to grab the gorgeous device through one of many Vodafone's subsidiaries.

Release date is set for Q3 2008, so I guess it will probably be somewhere around September. Roughly at that time, Sony Ericsson will release XPERIA, 3G iPhone may also be announced, and suddenly buying a mobile phone goes from complex to ultra-complex decision with the 3G iPhone & HTC Touch Diamond also vying for attention.

E-Ten to launch Glofiish DX900, rival to HTC Touch Diamond & SE Xperia X1

E-ten is gearing towards launching its latest handset, Glofiish DX900, at Computex tradeshow in Taipei, June 3-7.The new smartphone looks pretty much the same as many of E-ten's previous models, but specs wise it's a different beast.

The quad-band GSM, tri-band UMTS, HSDPA-enabled smartphone runs the latest version of Microsoft's mobile OS - Windows Mobile 6.1. Samsung's SC3 6400 533 MHz CPU provides the power needed, and 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM guarantee just enough memory for handling multiple demanding apps at the same time. Other specs include 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen, 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, built-in GPS SURF III chipset (20 channels), WiFi, Bluetooth, accelerometer, and microSD memory card slot. As for the size, the Glofiish DX900 measures 106×60.5×17 mm and has a weight of 147 grams.

It's main competitors are the Sony-Ericsson Xperia X1 & HTC Touch Diamond. Looks like E-Ten is making a lot of progress after being acquired by Acer.
